History of Teddy Bear Picnic Day
It is believed that Teddy Bear Picnic Day was created on July 10 of 1988 by Royal Selangor, after a song about Teddy Bears Picnic became popular. Soon many people started to buy and gift them for birthday and other occasions. The theme became popular among the kids, schools, parents, etc. The exact reason for the creation of the day remains unknown. What Teddy bears itself was invented after President Theodore Roosevelt failed to hunt a small bear in 1902, which was later made into a cartoon, then a toy store owner, Morris and Rose Michtom, gained permission from the president to name their stuffed toy as teddy bears. Soon teddy bears became most popular among the people.
