Respect for Parents Day

Respect for Parents Day is celebrated on August 1 of every year. Respect for Parents Day is the perfect day to teach your children about the respect. The primary goal of the day is to appreciate all parents in all parts of the world for their selfless dedication to their children and their lifelong sacrifice towards the parents-children relationship.

Our parents deserve our honor and respect for giving us life itself. Beyond this they almost always made countless sacrifices as they cared for and nurtured us through our infancy and childhood, provided us with the necessities of life, and nursed us through physical illnesses and the emotional stresses of growing up.” – Ezra Taft Benson

History of Respect for Parents Day

In 1994, Marilyn Dalrymple from Lancaster, CA created the Respect For Parents Day to appreciate the Parents in all parts of the world. She said Respect for Parents Day is an effort to “make your families United and Strong by recognising the management roles parents have, and to reestablish the respect for parents that was evident in the past.” This day was organised as a reminder that parents should deserve and needs respect and for all to recognise the value that parents have in society.
