The creator of National Peanut Butter Cookie Day is not known. George Washington Carver, American Agriculture Educator, is the one who is well known for promoting Peanut Butter. He compiled 105 recipes form various recipes and books. These 105 recipes include peanut butter as the main ingredient. Among the 105 recipes, 3 cookie recipes were included. After this, the peanut butter cookies come into the limelight with people started baking them in their homes. Only in late 1920’s the peanut butter was listed as one of the ingredients to make a cookie.
People use Peanut Butter in Sandwiches but a peanut butter cookie more famous and it can be taken as a snack anytime in a day. Earlier in 1920, peanut butter cookies were rolled thin and cut into shapes. It was in the year 1932, the most famous criss-cross mark made using fork tines were published by the Schenectady Gazette. Nowadays all the peanut cookies are made with the same pattern as it gets baked well in this shape.
