World Password Day

World Password Day is held on May 3rd of this year. It is an annual observance that falls on the First Thursday of Ever May. Imagine how will it be when any of your personal use accounts are left open without any encryption. So it will be easy for others to misuse all your data and other information, right? Just like the locks you have for your home, it is vital to protect all your valuable private details from others. Thus comes the need for the passwords which protects all the data from those who hacks and steals. Passwords are found everywhere in your email, banking, bill payments, shopping, social media, and more. They play an important part in everyday life of those who are living in the technologically developed world. Having a simple password is not a matter of fact, it is essential to have a stronger password to protect the digital details. World Password Day is a day set aside as a reminder for all of us about the important role passwords are playing and the need for strong passwords.

“Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don’t let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.” – Clifford Stoll

World Password Day

The cyber-security theft is considered to be one of the world’s fastest-growing crimes, however, adding strong authentication to your password will prevent the threats. In such a scenario, maintaining good and diverse passwords is all the way critical. And on the Password Day, you can take the time to think about the passwords and improve every other password of yours. With the growing need for encryption, there are lots of different passwords encryptions available to choose to make use of. Add an extra layer of security via strong passwords, fingerprint scanning, single-use codes, USB tokens and more. In either of these ways, you are enabling your protection beyond your normal password.

A password is a word or string of characters that is used for the user authentication as a proof of identity. In other words, passwords provide access approval to gain access to a resource that is meant to be secret which is not accessible by all. A password can be anything like numbers, upper and lower case letters, special characters or a combination of any two or all. The use of passwords or watchwords is found to be in existence from the ancient time where the usernames and passwords are the most commonly used term in the modern world. World Password Day provides a warning for every other digital content user that the passwords are the only way to get away from the identity theft.
