History of National Parfait Day

The exact origin and the founder of National Parfait Day are still unknown. This day is dedicated to this awesome dessert and nowadays there are many varieties of parfait available which is different from the original parfait recipe which began in France in the 19th century. In the USA, parfait refers to both traditional French Parfait dessert and to the American parfait. American parfaits are made by layering ice cream with fresh fruits, granola, yogurt, nuts, and whip cream and in the northern United States and Canada, these delicious desserts are also made by using yogurt layered with fresh fruits like strawberries, peaches, or blueberries or nuts and the word “yogurt parfait” is popular in few places in America and it is eaten for breakfast or it is eaten as a snack.
