National Margarita Day

Margarita is a most familiar tequila-based cocktail that consists of tequila, triple sec, and freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice is used as the key ingredient. Lemon is used in this cocktail drink making for obtaining the softer taste. Margarita is often served with the salt or sugar on the rim of the glass. The very essence of this cocktail comes in many flavours, and it is the best things about this drink. It ranges from Roasted Blueberry Basil Margaritas to punchy Strawberry Sriracha Margarita and more colours. Margarita is served on every other occasion, and the Margarita Day is a perfect excuse to try drinking them all.

Margarita is served shaken with ice or blended with ice or sometimes without ice all the way. It is served in a wide variety of glass types like a cocktail, wine glasses, pint glasses and large schooners. However, the cocktail drink is traditionally served in the eponymous margarita glass which is a stepped-diameter variant of a cocktail glass or the champagne coupe. The history of the Margarita is a bit mysterious and often end up in the debate as the incidents are varied. Several stories are depicting its origin as many bartenders from different parts of the world have put their individual idea on preparing the margarita. Thus, no one knows who had created the original margarita recipe.

Some say that it was created by Willie, who was a bartender from the Mexico City created it in 1934 and named it for his friend as Marguerite Hemery. One another well-known legend thought to be the creator of the Margaritas was Rancho La Gloria of Carlos “Danny” Herrera restaurant and developed it at his restaurant in Tijuana. It is believed that he has invented the cocktail for Marjorie King, who was allergic to all the hard alcohol except for tequila. There is another claim, and it says that Santos Cruz has invented it in Galveston, Texas for a singer Patty Lee, a popular patron.
