Leprechaun Day

Leprechaun Day is celebrated on May 13th of every year. The Leprechaun Day celebrated for the little folks of Ireland, which is also celebrated on Saint Patrick’s Day of every year. According to the story of Irish folklore, each leprechaun has a hidden pot of gold, and it will be placed at the end of the rainbow, and if the humans catch any of those leprechauns, with that help of its magical power they offer you three wishes for the exchange of their freedom. So by this, you will always need a pot full of gold or the little green guy makes today as your day. On the Leprechaun Day, people will be used to search for the rainbows and Leprechauns. The day celebrated as an Irish pride and everything about Ireland. Then the day for tiny Leprechauns and their precious hidden pot of gold has deserved their day.

If you stepped out of the shower and saw a leprechaun standing at the base of your toilet, would you scream, or would you innately understand that he meant you no harm?” – David Sedaris, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls

Leprechaun Day

The origin of the word Leprechaun is Irish, which supposedly came from the olden Irish word luchorpán. The meaning of luchorpán is a small boy. Moreover, in the older stories, they will say that the traditional Leprechaun will only wear red they won’t wear green. Then the red color has been getting associated with Christmas and Santa Claus, so they planned to change the color for the other day of the year.

Nowadays the capturing of Leprechaun and getting three wishes is probably a miscalculation. Then the main source of tidbit was the tale of the King of Ulster being granted all three wishes.
