Flag Day

Flag Day is celebrated on June 14 of every year. Flag Day is a day that chosen for flying a specific flag like a national flag or a day set apart to celebrate a historical event such as a nation’s selection of its flag. It commonly classified in National statutes, however, in some countries, the decree by the head of state can also order a Flag day. The statute and also decrees may define locations where flags flew, and they have flown like full- or half-staff. Alternatively, custom may prevail. Our flag is the delegate of our independence and our unity as a nation. One nation, under God, unified. Our flag has a proud and noble history. It was the lead of every battle fought by Americans. Many people have died shielding it. It even stands insolently on the surface of the moon.

History of Flag Day

The Fourth of July was traditionally commemorated as Flag’s birthday, but the idea of an annual day especially celebrating the Flag is believed to have first begun in 1885. BJ Cigrand, a schoolteacher, arranged for the followers in the Fredonia, Wisconsin Public School, District 6, to recognize June 14 which the 108th anniversary of the official adoption of The Stars and Stripes as ‘Flag Birthday.’ In numerous magazines and newspaper reports and public addresses over the following years, Cigrand continued to enthusiastically advocate the devotion of June 14 as ‘Flag Birthday,’ or ‘Flag Day.’

Flag Day

By following the presentation of Colonel J Granville Leach at the time historian of the Pennsylvania Society, the Pennsylvania Society of Colonial Dames on April 25, 1893, affirmed a resolution demanding the mayor of Philadelphia and administration and all private citizens to display the Flag on June 14th. Leach went on to recommend that after that the day is known as ‘Flag Day,’ and on that day, school children collected for appropriate activities, with each child given a small Flag.

How to Celebrate Flag Day

Celebrating the Flag Day is the best way to mark Flag, as a way to learn the values the flag stands. Unity of the seven emirates, of course, and also the unity of the tribes of the region.
