Carrot is a root vegetable, found mostly in orange colour. It is believed to be originated from Persia and was initially cultivated for leaves and seeds. The taproot of the plant is considered to be edible, although the greens are sometimes eaten. Carrots contain alpha- and beta-carotene and also has a right amount of vitamin K and vitamin B6. Carrots help in weight reduction, improving vision, prevents cancer, promotes healthier skin, and lot more. Carrots are widely used in many cuisines, like salads, soups, halwa, cakes, pudding and carrot salads are a tradition in many regional cuisines.
