Assistance Dog Day

Assistance Dog Day is celebrated on August 4 of every year. The Day recognizes and honours the assistance dogs and their trainers, and aims to increase funds awareness of the work they do. Assistance dogs will improve the quality of life for countless people who live with disability or illness, and this Day celebrates these four-legged friends.

There are several kinds of Assistance Dogs from the well-known guide dogs and hearing alert service dogs which helps the individuals with vision and hearing loss, to lesser-known helpers like seizure alert and medical alert dogs that can recognize the signs of heart attacks, strokes, epilepsy and much more.
